ARTICLE I

Name

 

          The name of the organization will be “Louisiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association,” (“LHSWCA”), as recognized by Charter Number 36740980N by the Louisiana Secretary of State on May 6, 2008, and by the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court Mortgage and Conveyance Office Instrument Number 10828686 on May 16, 2008.

 

ARTICLE II

Purposes

(This section is required by the United States Internal Revenue Service for non-profit status)

 

          The purposes of the LHSWCA consist of the following:

  1. To promote Louisiana high school wrestling in accordance with the highest standards and traditions of interscholastic competition;

  2. To represent the best interests of all Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) sanctioned wrestling programs;

  3. To facilitate communication between LHSWCA members regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues involving the LHSAA;

  4. To assist the LHSAA in the growth and best interests of Louisiana high school wrestling.

 

ARTICLE III

Eligible LHSWCA Wrestling Programs

 

          The LHSWCA shall only represent wrestling programs from schools sanctioned by the LHSAA.

 

ARTICLE IV

LHSWCA Administration

 

          The LHSWCA administration will consist of the following:

  1. LHSWCA Members Representative;

  2. LHSWCA Members;

  3. LHSWCA Facilitator.

 

     The LHSWCA Members Representative and LHSWCA Members shall be members of LHSAA sanctioned wrestling programs which have paid annual membership dues for the LHSWCA year in which they participate.  The LHSWCA Facilitator shall not be an LHSWCA Member.

ARTICLE V

LHSWCA Members Representative Duties

 

         The LHSWCA Members Representative shall have the following duties:

  1. To be an LHSWCA Member;  

  2. To present proposed rules changes or other changes regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues administered by the LHSAA, as determined by a vote of the LHSWCA Members, to the appropriate LHSAA persons for consideration, in the event the originator of the proposed rule changes or other changes cannot or chooses not to do so in person;

  3. To authorize payments of fees necessary for the existence of the LHSWCA as a legal non-profit corporation;

  4. To monitor the LHSWCA Facilitator regarding the finances of the LHSWCA;

  5. To coordinate the efforts of the LHSWCA Members in the event a replacement of the LHSWCA Facilitator is mandated.

 

ARTICLE VI

LHSWCA Members Duties

 

         The LHSWCA Members shall have the following duties:

  1. To present relevant ideas for rules changes or other changes regarding issues administrated by the LHSAA for consideration by the entire LHSWCA membership via personal efforts or the use of the LHSWCA Facilitator;

  2. To vote on ideas for rules changes or other changes regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues administrated by the LHSAA when such referendums have been determined eligible for a vote;

  3. To provide the LHSWCA with current email and telephone contact information.

 

ARTICLE VII

LHSWCA Facilitator Duties

 

          The LHSWCA Facilitator shall have the following duties:

  1. To maintain the privacy of contact information for LHSWCA Members;

  2. To legally domicile the LHSWCA corporation;

  3. To maintain a bank account in which to keep LHSWCA funds and sign checks, with the approval of the LHSWCA Members Representative, necessary for the existence of the LHSWCA as a legal non-profit corporation or for other purposes as properly determined by the LHSWCA Members;

  4. To remit timely payment of LHSWCA fees, with the approval of the LHSWCA Members Representative, necessary for the existence of the LHSWCA as a legal non-profit corporation;

  5. To allow the LHSWCA Members Representative complete access to LHSWCA financial records;

  6. To receive LHSWCA membership dues and maintain accurate records of current LHSWCA Members;

  7. To present ideas for rules changes or other changes regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues administrated by the LHSAA, as well as supportive and opposition comments, in a manner accessible to all LHSWCA Members;

  8. To notify LHSWCA Members when a vote is to be held regarding rules changes or other changes regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues administrated by the LHSAA;

  9. To tally the votes of LHSWCA Members regarding rules changes or other changes regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues administrated by the LHSAA and notify the LHSWCA Members of the results;

  10. To retain voting results for a period of one year after the votes have been recorded;

  11. To facilitate contact between Louisiana high school wrestling coaches as well as LHSWCA Members via forwarding contact requests from one coach to another for the latter's consideration.

 

ARTICLE VIII

LHSWCA Membership

 

  1. Membership in the LHSWCA shall consist of LHSAA sanction wrestling programs and shall cost $10 per program per year;

  2. Checks shall be written to "LHSWCA;"

  3. Membership entitles each program to one vote regarding rules changes or other changes regarding Louisiana high school wrestling issues administrated by the LHSAA;

  4. Membership years shall be in effect between the day after one year's LHSAA Wrestling State Tournament and the last day of the next year's LHSAA Wrestling State Tournament.

 

ARTICLE IX
